Match Report – LFF Girls vs Newark Town U7
LFF Girls secured a thrilling 5–4 victory over Newark Town U7 in what proved to be an entertaining contest for the neutrals. With both teams newly formed, the match was full of excitement, goals, and moments of individual brilliance.
Newark Town started the brighter of the two sides, taking a 1–0 lead after the first quarter. However, the LFF Girls grew into the game, and by halftime it was level at 2–2 thanks to two quickfire goals from Sophia West, who was a constant threat to the NT defence all evening.
Between the sticks, Pippa Rose produced several excellent saves to keep her side in it, while defenders Leillani and Nancy R stood strong under heavy pressure, keeping things solid at the back.
The second half saw more end-to-end action. Pippa swapped goalkeeping duties to play outfield, showing great energy and determination to grab herself a brace with sharp pressing and tenacity. Newark continued to fight back, and with just minutes remaining, the score was locked at 4–4.
With the game heading towards a draw, up stepped Sophia West, who capped off her outstanding performance by completing her hat-trick in the dying seconds, securing a memorable 5–4 win for the LFF Girls.
