What another amazing week it’s been at Lewis’s Football Fun!

The energy across every session has been brilliant, and it’s fantastic to see so many players continuing to develop while enjoying their football.

At Bishop, Coach Lewis saw some excellent sessions, while the Sharks and Rhinos were training over at Devon Park alongside Coach Jordan. The effort, focus and enthusiasm from the players were fantastic to see. On the next pitch, Coach Lewis also delivered a series of one-to-one sessions with Steven, Luis, Arlo, Logan and Buddy. These sessions were packed with quality work and great attitudes from everyone involved.

Sunday brought some intense work with the girls’ groups. Coach Lewis led the Eagles in a brilliant session, while the Cubs had a great session with Coach Sam. The Avengers were also in action and looked excellent from what we managed to watch — another strong showing from the girls' section.

Monday was equally enjoyable, with sessions for the Tots and Lions groups. Tots had fantastic numbers this week, including plenty of new starters joining the group. The energy and enthusiasm from the new players was brilliant, and we look forward to welcoming them properly into the group.

Across the board, every group absolutely smashed it this week. When we say smashed it, we mean amazing effort, high energy and brilliant participation. Numbers have been high across all sessions, which is fantastic to see.

Because of this growth, we will soon be looking to add a couple more groups to keep numbers manageable and ensure every child gets the best experience possible. This will be especially important as we approach the summer months when we move back outdoors.

Outdoor sessions will soon return:

  • Monday nights will move back to Farndon starting April 13th.

  • Friday nights at Bishop Alexander will move to Devon Park throughout the summer months as the evenings get lighter, with the Bishop group change starting April 10th.

We’re really looking forward to getting back outside and continuing the great work we’ve been doing.

There will also be a short break over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, meaning no football on Good Friday, Saturday, Easter Sunday or Easter Monday. This is a rare weekend off for us, and sessions will resume as normal after that.

We’re also excited to announce that the Girls Section Relaunch has officially gone live. Alongside this, we are running our biggest giveaway ever, with some fantastic prizes available. Keep an eye out for details if you’d like to get involved.

This week also features Wear Your Favourite Football Shirt Week, which should be great fun. We’re looking forward to seeing what kits everyone turns up in, getting lots of photos for social media and maybe even spotting a few players and coaches who support the same teams.

Behind the scenes, the coaching team will be holding a team meeting next week to plan how we can continue building on what has already been an incredible year. We have lots of exciting ideas and plans on the calendar, and we’re looking forward to putting them into action for the benefit of your children.

You may also notice a few new faces around the sessions soon:

  • Myah - starting work experience with You Can Do Sport.

  • Sophie - who has been helping indoors regularly and may start helping outdoors a bit more.

  • Grace - who will be having a trial shift next week, so please make her feel very welcome when you see her.

Please make sure to give them all a warm welcome to what is already a fantastic community.

A huge thank you to all parents and guardians for your continued support — from your communication regarding absences each week to the way you encourage and support your children. You help make Lewis’s Football Fun such a positive place for young players to create great memories.

If you’re not already following us on social media, please drop us a follow. There will be lots more interesting content coming, with more help on the social media side going forward and some exciting ideas planned.

Our Race Week videos have also started to be released, so keep your eye out on social media to see your child in action.

Recently, some of the children also featured in Favourite Superhero – Part 1, which was shared on TikTok, and there will be more exciting content and opportunities for your children to be involved.

Finally, a huge congratulations to our Player of the Month, Tom Loveridge. A video interview will be coming soon, so keep your ears peeled and make sure to congratulate him.

Let’s go and smash another brilliant week of football and continue building the next generation of footballers in the area — all with smiles on faces at Lewis’s Football Fun, Lewis’s Next Level, and Lewis’s Girls Development.

Thank you all for being part of it.
