LFF Newsletter: 18th December 2025

Another great week at Lewis’ Football Fun ⚽

As always, a huge thank you to everybody for backing us and supporting what we do. We really appreciate the continued support and helping us do what we do best.

It’s been great to change the groups around again this week. On Monday night, despite the sports hall closing on short notice, the way everyone adapted at Barnaby Road was really, really good. We managed to get groups running at both Barnaby Road and the YMCA. This gave us a great opportunity to look at players in different groups and environments to see how they adapt and where they benefit most. We received a lot of positive feedback from coaches, which has been really helpful when planning group amendments going into Christmas.

Saturday was another excellent session with Coach Jordan, with more great feedback coming in.

On Sunday, we ran Tots, Cubs and Eagles inside the Village Hall, while the Girls and Avengers trained outside at Farndon. It worked really well and allowed us to keep sessions running smoothly across locations.

Overall, another really successful week 👏

Looking Ahead – Final Week Before Christmas 🎄

We’ve now got one week to go, and today is Christmas Party Day — what a night it’s going to be for the children! We’ve organised lots of great activities, including:

🎅 A Santa Claus appearance

🎁 Selection boxes for all

🌭 Hot dogs and chips

🎤 Entertainment by Football Fun coaches

📖 Story time with Coach Lewis

🎧 DJ and disco

It’s going to be a night to remember for the children, with loads of great social media opportunities too.

The final sessions before Christmas will all be fun sessions, making sure everyone heads into the break smiling, enjoying football, and ready to come back refreshed in the New Year.

Thank You...& What’s Coming Next

Thank you for the feedback we’ve had on the coach appreciation posts — it really means a lot. There’ll be plenty more great content over Christmas and New Year. Get your child involved where possible, whether that’s practising a skill, taking part in a quiz, or recognising something positive as we move into the New Year.

Myself and Coach Vicki are working hard behind the scenes to make sure every child continues to have the best possible experience, with strong technical drills and well-planned sessions across all coaches.

We also have a couple of new coaches to be announced in the New Year, so keep your eyes out for that 👀

Sadly, we’ll also be saying goodbye to Coach Jackson, who will be running his final session on Saturday 20th. A big thank you to him for everything he’s contributed.
