LFF Newsletter - 5th March 2026

Another brilliant week at Lewis’s Football Fun, and once again we absolutely smashed it! 💪

Despite waterlogged pitches and lots of grassroots football across the area being called off, every single one of our sessions stayed on. That shows the resilience of our coaches, our team, and the fantastic commitment from our children and parents who still turned up ready to play.

Sometimes football isn’t about perfect conditions — it’s about the boggy pitches, muddy boots and big smiles. Those are the memories kids remember and the experiences that build resilience. It separates the fair-weather players from the ones who truly love the game. So a huge well done to everyone who attended this week 👏

Friday Night – Bishop Alexander

We smashed it again with some fun but technical drills, and it’s brilliant to see how much individuals in this group have improved since we first started. We’ll also be introducing a new name for the Bishop group soon, so keep an eye out for that announcement.

Sunday Morning – Cubs & Eagles

Both sessions are now absolutely packed, which is amazing to see. While the indoor space has been very convenient for our younger players, we recognise that a larger sports venue would really help their development, and that’s something we’re actively looking into for next winter.

It was great to be part of the Cubs session, while Coach Niamh and Coach Sam smashed it with Eagles as always.

Girls Development Session

Seven girls attended this week’s session, and we’ve got some exciting plans to grow and develop our girls section, so stay tuned for more updates soon! 👀

The Avengers

More fantastic feedback from parents again, with Coach Tom and Coach Tyler delivering brilliant sessions; bringing intensity alongside big smiles

Monday Evening – Indoor Groups

I was back indoors with Tots, Explorers and Jaguars, and it was fantastic to see the progress since I last coached them four weeks ago.

Tots

A few new faces joined the group which was great to see. Numbers were slightly smaller than usual but the energy and effort from the little ones was brilliant.

Lots of enthusiasm, running around, practising skills and enjoying their football.

Outdoor YMCA Sessions

Meanwhile, sessions outdoors were run by Coach Nathan, Coach Sam, Coach Hilly, Coach Jordan, Coach Tom, Coach Niamh and Coach Tyler, and the feedback was excellent. Great numbers, great intensity and another strong platform to build from.

April Mini League

Registrations are now OPEN

  • £15 for three sessions

  • Open to non LFF players

  • FREE for current LFF subscribers

Subscribers will also get additional sessions and matches throughout April. Spaces will go quickly, so make sure you secure your place soon . I’ll also be sending personalised messages to groups to give everyone the chance to sign up.

Easter Half-Term Camps 🐣

Week 1 – Our Nottingham Forest City Ground Tour camp completely sold out within 24 hours! Incredible support again 👏

Week 2 is now being advertised and includes a trip to Yardball on Friday 10th April.

The trip is for ages 6+ (venue restriction)

Younger players can still attend the other camp days.

This will be another fantastic experience for the children and the coaches, and we expect this one to sell out quickly too.

Player of the Month – February

We’ve got another Player of the Month announcement coming very soon… stay tuned to see who takes it!

Team Opportunities

We’ve started shortlisting players for teams. Some children may be ready now, while others may be ready in a year — development takes time and we always prioritise what’s best for each child.

Our mission remains the same:

creating happy memories on and off the pitch for your children.

Thank you for your continued support of Lewis’s Football Fun — it never goes unnoticed.

Easter Weekend Break

For the first time in a while we’ll be taking a short break.

There will be no sessions on:

* Good Friday

* Saturday

* Easter Sunday

* Easter Monday

It’s a rare week off for us, but a great opportunity for everyone to enjoy some family time over Easter.

Thank you again for being part of the journey.

Ready to smash another week! ⚽🔥
