Weekly Round-Up
What a fantastic week of football it’s been! The standard of play and effort across all groups has been brilliant, with some excellent combination play and plenty of learning moments.
On Sunday, I had the pleasure of working with both the Cubs and Avengers alongside Coach Sam and Coach Hilly. Both groups had excellent sessions, with the Avengers in particular showing great progress in the transitional game — especially receiving the ball on an angle. They set a perfect example of what we want to see from our younger players in the future.
Monday night gave me the chance to spend time with some of our brilliant coaches at Lewis’s Football Fun. It was great to see that we are all aligned in our ambition: improving individually so that we can provide your children with the very best football experience and development.
This week also saw two brilliant summer camp days:
Tuesday with over 30 children in attendance
Thursday with just under 50 players enjoying their sessions
The energy and smiles said it all — they absolutely loved it! Keep an eye on our website for more information about upcoming camps.
On Wednesday, our brand-new girls’ team played their first match against the equally new Newark Town U7s. It was a fantastic game, and a full match report will follow on our website. In addition, we are delighted to now have our Newark Town Girls team training every Wednesday evening. This means we now have seven teams training extra on Wednesdays, which is an amazing step forward for the club and our players’ development.
A big thank you to all players, parents, and coaches for another fantastic week. The future is looking very bright!
