Lewis’s Football Fun – Weekly Roundup

What a fantastic week at Lewis’s Football Fun! The energy, intensity, and dedication from both coaches and players have been brilliant, and it’s been a real pleasure to see all the progress on and off the pitch.

Friday – Bishop Session: We kicked things off with an intense session focusing on tactical awareness and different types of techniques. The children did a fantastic job visualising the pitch and preparing for match play. The focus and commitment were excellent, setting a great tone for the weekend.

Saturday – Rain or Shine: Despite some challenging weather, sessions went ahead, and the feedback from parents was overwhelmingly positive. Coach Jordan delivered two brilliant sessions, with the second group benefiting from a smaller, more intense format. It was great to see how the children thrived under that focused attention.

Sunday – All Groups Outside: All groups remained outside for the sessions. The Avengers worked on penetration drills and breaking lines with guidance from myself and Coach Tom. The girls focused on technical drills with Coach Sam and Coach Niamh. Outside, the Ninjas had an exciting session working on overloads and combination play. All groups showed great commitment and enthusiasm throughout the day.

Monday – Back Indoors: Returning indoors was a highlight, with energy levels high from the first second. The children were fully engaged, well-behaved, and worked brilliantly on competitive drills. Outside sessions also went well, with all groups continuing their focused work.

Looking Ahead – Match Week: Next week promises plenty of match play! Older groups will have the chance to play competitive matches, while younger groups will enjoy longer matches alongside targeted drills. Keep an eye on the website for match reports and updates—it’s a great way for players to review and improve.

Other Updates:

Overall, it’s been a hugely successful week, and Lewis’s Football Fun continues to grow and improve. Thank you to all our families for your ongoing support—your children are in the right place to enjoy football, improve technically, and have fun along the way.
