The Titans went into this match chasing their fourth consecutive win, facing a physical and attacking Lowdham side. Despite the challenge, the boys started brightly, creating several attacking opportunities and showing real intent going forward.

Lowdham capitalised on a Titans mistake to open the scoring after 17 minutes, but the response was positive — heads stayed up, spirits remained high, and the boys continued to push for an equaliser. Despite several chances, the goal didn’t come, and the Titans went into half-time trailing 1–0.

At the break, the boys showed strong attitudes and a hunger to get back into the game. The second half began with more attacking intent, though playing out from the back proved difficult under constant Lowdham pressure.

The breakthrough came after 33 minutes, when Freddie Pick found the net following a brilliant assist from Davey Birtle — a well-deserved equaliser. However, just nine minutes later, Lowdham regained their lead with a goal on 42 minutes.

From there, the Titans pressed relentlessly, giving Lowdham little room to settle. It was a fiercely physical contest, with the boys battling right to the final whistle.

A strong, determined performance against tough opposition — plenty of positives to take forward.

Key Performances:

Ridley Hall Manager and Parents player of the match, and very well deserved! A strong performance throughout; immense concentration and strong defensive play made a very difficult match for Lowdham.

Davey Birtle A continual strength in the centre midfield and today's game was no different. Davey again worked hard to maintain a strong side; giving Lowdham alot to be concerned about.

A Word from the Manager:

Tom: "Can’t fault the effort from the lads today against a very good division 3 team. A mistake and a lapse in concentration for their goals which we need to work on. But we had our own chances at the other end albeit not easy chances but we were creating. The lads should be mega proud of this mornings performance, and keep their heads up for another tough game next weekend."

Vicki: "I absolutely cannot fault the boys for their performance on the pitch; we always knew playing a team from the division above would be difficult, but this only made the boys more hungry for the win. Their passion and drive shone throughout the game, the result does not reflect the game played."

Win, lose or draw...Newark Town Titans are always last to leave the pitch! This week was no different; with parents and the boys chatting, laughing and playing football. What a team! UP THE TITANS!
