Newark Town Titans Secure a Hard-Fought Victory Away Against Meden Vale

Newark Town Titans travelled to face a team unfamiliar to them and encountered a strong opposition that tested their defensive resilience. Despite the pressure, Barnaby Podmore and Ridley Hall stood firm, forming a brick wall that refused to yield to Meden Vale’s attacking prowess.

The Titans displayed strength and unity throughout the match, with players attacking the ball effectively and keeping the game finely balanced. Jack Lebeter made some tremendous saves, demonstrating both bravery and strength in goal. Josef Pell and Freddie Gee worked tirelessly to track back and apply immense pressure, winning back possession when needed.

Davey Birtle continued to impress, showcasing his strength, passion, and relentless work rate, while forming an outstanding partnership with Freddie Pick in midfield—covering each other expertly and helping the team maintain control. Kailum Cree contributed with fantastic challenges, precise corners, and overall presence, bolstering the Titans’ midfield dominance.

Leo Dunkley made an immediate impact off the bench, showing fearlessness in tackles, holding up the ball, and fighting hard to regain possession. Levi McCann also demonstrated versatility, playing in midfield and defence, combining speed, strength, and well-worked passes on a tricky, bobbly pitch.

The match remained goalless until the final five minutes, when a brilliant through ball from Leo Dunkley found Josef Pell, who calmly converted to secure the winning goal. Despite Meden Vale’s tactical adjustments—switching from one striker to two—their strong presence was unable to break down Newark Town’s resolute defence.

The Titans leave the pitch with a well-earned victory, having displayed teamwork, determination, and tactical discipline under pressure.
