Hugo had several chances but was well defended, and Luca had a strong shot that was saved by the keeper. Newark dominated possession during this period, with Hugo showing great skill to evade multiple defenders and create dangerous opportunities.
The third quarter saw William deliver a brilliant goal kick that nearly resulted in a goal. Nile had a shot that went wide, and Ezra’s corner led to an own goal for Woodborough, putting Newark back in front. Woodborough quickly responded with another goal despite Max and Ezra’s efforts to defend. Nile then scored with a precise strike into the corner, beyond the keeper’s reach. Throughout this quarter, Harry and Neo defended valiantly, making crucial blocks and keeping the team in contention.
The fourth quarter was full of hustle and energy, with both teams creating numerous chances. Archie’s corner nearly resulted in a goal for Neo, but the keeper saved. Nile attempted a pass to Archie under pressure but was stopped, and Luca’s strong delivery to Archie was also saved. Josh took a shot that went wide, but in the final minute, he passed to Ezra, who finished with a well-taken goal to seal the victory.
Overall, it was a thrilling and well-matched game. Newark showed persistence and teamwork, coming from behind multiple times to secure a hard-fought win. Standout performances included William’s exceptional goalkeeping and key attacking contributions from Archie, Hugo, Nile, and Ezra.
