Match Report: Newark Town Titans U10 vs Radcliffe Olympic
Newark Town Titans delivered an outstanding performance, showing dominance from the very first whistle. With three changes to the starting line-up, Rafferty, Alfie, and Harley were given the nod and immediately made their presence felt. The Blues played with intensity throughout, spending the vast majority of the game in the opposition’s half. Their teamwork was a joy to watch.
Early on, Rafferty produced a superb assist, threading a precise pass to Alfie, whose initial strike was saved, but he reacted quickly to bury the rebound into the bottom corner. Several chances followed, with Rafferty firing just over with his weaker foot, Alfie testing the keeper again, and Ashton twice striking from distance. As Radcliffe began to grow into the game, managers Lewis and Nathan introduced all four substitutes, adding fresh energy. Farley went close with a powerful effort before Billy doubled the advantage, dribbling from a tight angle and smashing the ball into the top corner. Steven and Will continued to find space, linking up well, with Steven nearly setting up Farley for another opportunity.
At half-time, the Blues went in with a comfortable lead.
In the second half, Newark Town continued to control proceedings, with Ashton going close on a few occasions. Aston was also lively in attack, getting into dangerous positions and unlucky not to find the back of the net. Farley, playing from right midfield, was a constant threat, beating his marker repeatedly and causing problems all afternoon. Steven also impressed down the left, delivering a superb cross that narrowly missed being tapped in. The energy, creativity, and determination from the team never dipped, and while there are always areas to improve, this was a performance full of quality and character.

Manager’s Comments “Days like this are the reason I love coaching. The lads listened, took on what we worked on in the warm-up, and executed it brilliantly on the pitch. Performances like that are not only pleasing for us as coaches but also for the parents who support week in, week out, and most importantly for the boys’ confidence. Radcliffe are a strong side who won on the opening week, so to produce a display like this is fantastic. What matters now is that we build on these standards and don’t allow ourselves to take our foot off the gas.”
