Woodhouse Colts vs Newark Town Titans U10

🏆 Match Report

Match Report: Woodhouse Colts 7 – 1 Newark Town Titans

This weekend, Newark Town Titans faced a daunting challenge away at Woodhouse Colts, a side that came into the game as strong favourites and, realistically, could be competing three leagues higher than we currently are. Despite the result, the performance from the Titans was something to be incredibly proud of.

From the first whistle, the lads battled with heart and commitment against a team that has defeated numerous premier sides. Unlike last week, the work rate was outstanding, and every player gave their all. While the scoreline doesn’t reflect it, Newark Town Titans showed quality, resilience, and moments of real attacking promise, even managing to get on the scoresheet.

Standout Performances:

  • Harry (Goalkeeper): Made some excellent saves and commanded his area with confidence.

  • Harley (Defender): Solid defensively, rotated up the pitch, and contributed when needed.

  • Steven (Defender): Strong in tackles, read the game well, and provided a commanding presence at the back.

  • Farley (Defence): Adapted well to a less familiar position, showcased his dribbling and delivered some threatening balls forward.

  • James (Midfield): A true maestro in the middle, battling tirelessly, supporting teammates, and scoring a brilliant goal.

  • Ashton (Midfield): Relentless running, constantly challenging defenders, creating space, and providing the assist for James’ goal.

  • Aston Chambers (Forward): Put in a man-of-the-match performance, working tirelessly upfront.

  • Alfie (Forward): Battled hard, made intelligent runs, and caused problems for the opposition defence.

  • Raf (Pivot/Defensive Midfield): Worked tirelessly to shield the back two, demonstrating composure and discipline in a pivotal role.

Goal Scorer: James Parmenter (assist by Ashton)

Man of the Match: Ashton & Aston

Overall, while the 7-1 scoreline reflects the gulf in ability on the day, the Titans showed character, determination, and plenty of encouraging signs for the future. Every player contributed superbly, and the lads left the field with their heads held high.

Nathan and Lewis were both incredibly proud of the team’s effort. The focus now moves back to training on Wednesday night as the Titans continue to build and grow together.
